A documentary film of the live performance R.E.P.R.I.S.E. archive, led by dancer Gabriela Zuarez. R.E.P.R.I.S.E. is a dance creation that portrays a hybrid dramaturgy performed by a sextet of Young local Argentinian female dancers.

R.E.P.R.I.S.E., is an outcome project of activism and social awareness in response to the Argentinian parliament’s neglect of the abortion law and the position of women in that country. The dance work undoubtedly showcases a recurrence of the movement language that seeks a new identity by exploring the relationship between the tango locality and the physicality of the dancers. In R.E.P.R.I.S.E., the feminine in our society is unveiled as the central axis in the need to overcome social structures and patriarchal mentality.
Gabriela Zuarez, leads the formation Sur Mundo Ensemble, performing a blend of languages informed by various movement disciplines. Her focus gravitates on the fundamentals of tango and condensing its cultural essence into the contemporary ensemble’s DNA.

The creative production is by Micaela Tettamanti, camera and video documentation is by Agustín Ruíz Brussaín and photography is by Dolores Luna.
Zuarez draws from the musical production of Astor Piazzolla and Gerry Mulligan, with arrangements by Lucas Malec and incorporates the musical styles of Luis Borda and Frédéric Devreese. The sound editing is by Mailen De La Maria.
Resident dancers of R.E.P.R.I.S.E are: Viviana Montilla, Adriana Viquez, Agostina Bini, Myfanwy Spannaus, Marina Crippa, and Victoria Matcha.
